I had the pleasure of designing and launching a website for Earl’s Signature Sauces, a Halifax-based specialty sauce business with a lot of personality and the world’s best mascot—Earl, Charles’ dog! Charles is the mastermind behind the delicious sauces, which currently include several hot sauces, barbecue sauces and the mysterious but tasty “A Sauce with No Name”.

 

This was Charles’ first foray into the world of e-commerce, having up to this point grown his business organically in person at farmer's markets and through stocking his products at retailers in Eastern Canada. The new site allows him to increase his reach by now offering shipping anywhere in Canada.

 

We pulled the colour scheme from The existing illustrative logo, leaning heavily on red, orange and black to give the site a bold look and some fiery flare. The site is simple and easy to navigate with a minimal approach to the menu and number of pages. The menu disappears when not in use keeping the pages uncluttered and clean.

 

I’m very excited to see what’s next for Earl’s Signature Sauces!
